Phantom in Milwaukee falls short
I've seen it twice in New York and once in Toronto. The company that put this on in Milwaukee was not very good, not like the other times I've seen it. The lead who played Christine sang everything in this high pitched annoying opera voice, and that's not how the songs are normally sung, which sounded awkward. A lot of the songs had different lyrics. All were absolutely fantastic, so that was pretty disappointing. There were several scenes that had been changed, and not for the better. Even the Phantom was not well portrayed. It was my daughter's first time seeing it and she thought it was just "ok" even though she absolutely loves the CD. This was no where near as good. I encourage anyone who just thought this was "ok" to see it in a larger city where it's phenomenal.
